About Us
From a plastic ocean to Black Rock city.
The Winged Turtle is a project by Lolo Garner & The Factory Art for Burning Man 2023. A large steel art installation representing a sea turtle that, suffocated in a sea full of plastics, develops wings and flies away from the sea.
She finds refuge on the Black Rock City playa, where visiting humans will feel compassion for her story and will become aware of their own responsibility to safeguard the seas.

The Artist
LOLO GARNER is the pseudonym used by the artist Manuel Granero (Palma de Mallorca).
With training in industrial design, numerical control and robotics, he comes to the world of art through the kinetic-art movement, a current based on the aesthetics of movement that uses technology and parametric design software to create complex pieces, generating organic, continuous and harmonic configurations. Garner seeks the participatory gaze of the spectator and its integration with the work, creating stable kinetic experiences.
Garner's work takes advantage of the intrinsic effect that exists in the movement of the visual and gives us sculptures that make the observer be drawn inward, interact with the work, live the experience of being in the fourth dimension and get new perspectives on it.
The main material he uses is corten steel, processed with the latest robotic cutting and welding technologies.
Optokinetic sculpture for Seville (Spain). Depending on the point of view, you can see the face of Juan Sebastián Elcano or that of Fernando de Magallanes. Currently in progress.
